What Is the time commitment to become a mentor?
Each program is different however we do ask for a year commitment from volunteers to best make an impact in the program. Community-based programs ask for a minimum of 2 match outings a month for a couple hours. School-based mentors will meet their mentees during an afterschool program (1-2 times a week) that is facilitated by our case managers. Site-based mentors will meet their mentees at a current program site (1-2 times a week) that is facilitated by our case managers. Maui Mentor Center mentors meet 3 times a week (afterschool) with Mentor Mondays and Tutoring (Tuesdays/Thursdays). ʻAʻALIʻI Mentoring mentors meet once a month with their mentors in a facilitated session with our case manager.
