In the fall of 2011, grandpa and grandma removed Aries and her brother from an oppressive environment of domestic violence. Both children were enrolled in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kaua‘i program within two months of each other. 

Aries was matched with Big Sister Sara on February 14, 2017. Little Sister Aries was able to come out of her shell with the help of Big Sister Sara. Aries said "I think that if I didn't have Sara as my big, I wouldn't leave the house or open up as much as I do. But when I really think of what would happen if she wasn't my big, I wouldn't be who I am today. Clearly, that is obvious because her impact is what helps to shape me. My goal for the future is to be a big just like how she was so I could share my knowledge and love like she did". Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kaua‘i is so proud of this match for their impact on each other and the community!
