Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawai‘i is partnering with Lili‘uokalani Trust (LT) to serve youth 16-26 who are experiencing or at risk of housing insecurity, system involvement, or in need of community. The goal is to support LT's mission to break the cycle of poverty for adolescents and young adults by providing our mentoring services. BBBSH is seeking volunteer mentors who are available weekly on Wednesdays from 11am-12pm to hang out and build relationships with the kamali‘i (youth) at their drop-in center, Lydia House, located in the downtown area. Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawai'i is partnering with Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility (HYCF) to serve youth who are currently involved in the criminal justice system. By providing 1:1 mentoring services, we aim to reduce recidivism and support youth with their journey.
Mentors will begin meeting with youth at HYCF and continue to build their relationship after youth are released. This support will help the youth as they transition back into the community. For more information on HYCF and youth they serve, watch this video! |
